Day 1

Day 2
(B) 10:00 Pick up the vehicle Toyota Rav 4. 10:30 Departure time towards the town of Cartago, east of San Jose down South on Highway One, in the Panamerican Highway , we are going towards the town of San Gerardo de Dota at the 80 KM on that highway, we will follow signs to the Albergue de Montaña Savegre where we will overnight this place is about 2 hour away from San Jose. This 400 ha farm of which 250 ha are primary forest and the rest of the farm is cultivated of fields, apple plantations, peaches, plumbs, vegetables of various kinds and pastures lands. This is a cloud forest and refuge for 100s of species of plants, mammals, colorful birds and the majestic quetzal often seeing on the trails truly a paradise for Quetzal searchers. Day 3 (B) 08:00 Right after breakfast we invite yot to walk the trail to the waterfall in search of the magnificent Quetzal, this will be worth the walk, this mellow hike takes about 1 h 30 min. 10:00 Departure time towards the townof San Isidro del General (1 h 30 min) where we will follow signs to Playa Dominical ( 2 h ). Ones at the intersection of Dominical we will take a right a follow signs towards Quepos, Manuel Antonio in the Central Pacific, Quepos is 5 hours away from Savegre. Lodging at Parador Hotel ****+ or Similar (Manuel Antonio Beach ) |

Day 4 (B) 09:00 Departure towards the province of Puntarenas ( 2h 15 min ) To catch the 12:30 Ferry acrross the Nicoya Gulf ( 1 h )towards the towns of Paquera, Cobano, Montezuma and Mal Pais beeing this last one about 2 hours away from the ferry drop off, and site for the overnight. At night Optional visit to enjoy the night life of neighboring Montezuma Town few minutes away. Lodging at Sunset Reef Hotel *** ( Mal Pais Town ) |

Day 5 (B) 08:00 Today will be a full adventure day going accross several rivers and into the forest along the coast line passing through several villages and towns with outstanding views of the Pacific Ocean. We will drive towards the towns of Santa Teresa, Puerto Coyote, San Francisco, Pueblo Nuevo, Bejuco, Corozalito, Islita, Playa Camaronal, Puerto Carrillo and finally Playa Samara, beeing this last one the town where we will overnight 5 hours away from Mal Pais, and with miles and miles of Sandy Beaches. Day 6 (B) 08:00 Today we will head up north following signs towards the towns of Playa Garza, Guiones, Nosara, Pelada, Ostional, San Juanillo, Lagarto, Junquillal, Paraiso, Playa Negra, Avellanas, San Jose Pinilla, Tamarindo ( we will pass by Tamarindo Exit ) optional drive to Tamarindo ( 30 min from the exit ) to Continue on to the town of Huacas Intersection where we will make a left towards the town of Brasilito and than finally Flamingo Beach where we will overnight Flamingo is 5 hour away from Samara. Lodging at Flamingo Beach Resort *** ( Flamingo Beach ) |

Day 7 (B) 10:00 Departure time in direction of Playa Potrero, ones you exit the Flamingo Beach hotel you make a right turn, keep driving until you pass a little bridge by the Flamingo Marina, continue driving on the paved road until you get to a sharp curve to the right keep driving for 50 meters than make a left on a dirt road, follow this dirt road you will pass a little bridge over the Mangroves keep driving until the Bakery that will be on the right side there you make a right turn keep driving to the next intersection at Perlas Bar where you will make a left turn you will pass a little bridge keep driving until the next intersection where you will make a right turn keep driving until the next intersection where you will make a left turn keep driving just following the road across a couple of rivers towards Playa del Coco, there will not be signs so if you feel kind of lost just ask someone on the road or stop at a house. At the end of the dirt road you are going to make a right turn keep driving till the next intersection where you will make a left turn towards the town of Liberia, follow signs to Liberia and when you get to the Burger King of Liberia you want to take a left turn towards the Nicaraguan Boarder keep driving for 12 KM to Cañas Dulces follow signs for the hotel make a right turn and keep driving for 18 km until the Borinquen 3 h 30 min away from Flamingo. Day 8 (B) 10:00 Departure time toward the Town of Liberia and Cañas, we get into Cañas get across town and follow signs towards Tilaran, Tronadora we will be driving around the Arenal Volcano Lake until the town of La Fortuna, where we will overnight, La Fortuna is 4 h away from Borinquen Hotel. Lodging at Montaña de Fuego Resort & Spa ***+ (Arenal Volcano ) |

Day 9 (B) 10:00 Optional visit to the Tabacon Hotsprings. 14:00 Return to San Jose. 17:00 Return Car at the Hotel. Lodging at Confort Real Hotel |
